Sizing Kit--General Information

Would you buy a pair of shoes without first trying them on? 

Why then would you buy a set of articles without trying them on your dog?

We all know how difficult it is to teach the scent discrimination exercise.  Don't compound these difficulties with articles that aren't right for your dog.

For a nominal charge--$25.00, I'll send you a sizing kit that will enable you to accurately size your dog.  There is NO charge for shipping and handling.  As a further incentive, if you place an order for a full set of articles after purchasing a sizing kit, I'll deduct $10.00 from the cost of your order .  As you can see, I'm trying to give away my sizing kit.  Why?  Because it works and nothing irks me more than to see people spend good money on articles that aren't right for their dog.

 

Sizing Kit--Detailed Description

Now, let me tell you about my sizing kit.

My sizing kit consists of un-assembled article pieces--that is, bars, ends, and fasteners.  Each kit includes at least 3 different bar sizes and 3 different end sizes.  The ends are secured to the bars with wing-nuts to configure an article.  This takes about 15 seconds.  Because the bars and ends are inter-changeable, many different sized articles can be configured.  

The kit also includes spacer-washers.  When one washer is inserted between the bar and an end, the washer extends the length of the bar by 1/8 inch.  This is especially useful when sizing small breeds.  Inserting two washers extends the bar length by 1/4 inch.

Each sizing kit is designed to accommodate a particular breed.  For example, let's say that you have a 15 inch, male Sheltie.  On the basis of this information, I  determine the most-likely--but not necessarily the best, size for your dog.  The bars and ends that make up your sizing kit are built around this "most likely" size.

As an illustration, the pieces included in my Sheltie sizing kit are detailed below.  Using these pieces a total of 21 different article sizes can be configured.

The bars are made of wood or aluminum.  The ends are made of wood.  The articles that you configure are to be used for sizing purposes only.  They are not to be used for training purposes.

My sizing kits are designed to enable you to easily determine the right size for your dog.  Some dogs, however, have special needs.  In such cases, my sizing kit will serve well to identify those needs.  I'm more than willing to work with you to get it right for your dog.  If need be, additional pieces can be sent at little or no extra charge.
